Infusion Version I

Infusion Version I focuses on the evolution of percussion timbres and rhythms through an ever-expanding ‘family tree’. The piece begins with two sounds, which are ‘bred’ together to produce ‘offspring’. This process then continues with new individuals being added at each ‘generation’, allowing these timbres to develop over time and sometimes mutate. The percussionist follows one of the many routes through these ‘generations’, playing the ‘parent’ phrases, followed by their ‘offspring’.
